Art attendees were excited and delighted, Saturday October 13th at Pineview Lodge in Eden Utah.The remarkable paintings offered by Doug Braithwaite, as well as the soulful music performed by Nathan Fox and the vibrant and beautiful dance by the Valley Dance Ensemble, created an event that the valley will be talking about for months to come.

Several art collectors and enthusiasts commented that the body of Doug’s work was the best they’ve ever seen.There were a total of 32 pieces, with a great array of spectacular Ogden valley scenes, urban views and water images.Doug’s blending of realism with his abstract brushwork recall the work of William Wendt or Edgar Payne.Doug’s confident, unmediated brushwork is crucial to his central focus in painting.Doug says:
“I’m interested in that point where realism breaks into abstraction,” “I take a painting toward realism, and then I hold it back with brush strokes."
Although many of the pieces were sold, there remain 19 extraordinary works.The exhibit has been moved to the Wolf Creek Clubhouse Gallery Space located at 3900 N. Wolf Creek Drive, Eden, Utah and will be on display until November 3rd.
